Senior Moves Across the UK

Based in Northampton, working nationwide

Where we work

One Northampton office, a service that works nationwide

Chayce Properties is based in Northampton and arranges moves anywhere in the UK. We are not a network of local branches: one coordinator manages your move from the first conversation to settling in, in person where it matters and remotely in between.

Different parts of the country raise different practical questions. These are regions where the practical questions tend to differ; if yours is not listed, the service works the same way. Start with a Discovery Consultation (£150) and we will plan around your situation.

London & the South East

What tends to matter in a London or South East move

Property chains in London and the South East can run long, so timing a sale against a purchase elsewhere takes careful management. This is where chauffeur-driven viewings and estate agent liaison (from Gold Prestige) are most useful.

Many homes in the region are leasehold flats, which means service charges, managing agents and remaining lease length sit alongside the usual sale process. Higher property values can also make the decision to downsize, release equity or move closer to family more financially complex. We help you plan the move around these questions; we do not give financial or legal advice.

Moving-day logistics matter too: parking suspensions, loading restrictions, the Congestion Charge and ULEZ in central London, and building rules on lift booking and removal-vehicle access hours. We plan around these before moving day, not on it.

Your coordinator can manage the move remotely and in person as needed, including viewings, staging visits and moving day, wherever in the region you are moving from or to.

The Home Counties

What tends to matter in a Home Counties move

The Home Counties are a mix of village, market-town and commuter-belt properties, often with access considerations a city move does not have: long driveways, narrow lanes, or limited parking near the property. We plan around these details from the first conversation.

Many later-life moves here are between villages, or from a larger rural property into something more manageable nearby, often while staying close to a community, GP surgery or family. Where a larger family home is being sold to fund a smaller one, the sale needs coordinating alongside the physical move; staging and estate agent liaison can run alongside sorting and packing.

Northampton is within practical road reach of much of the Home Counties, so viewings and moving day can be planned with realistic travel times.

The South West & the coast

What tends to matter in a South West or coastal move

The South West and England’s coastal towns have a high concentration of retirement developments and age-restricted communities. Each has its own application process, service charges and eligibility rules to work through alongside the move.

Coastal properties bring their own practical points: damp and structural surveys are more often part of the sale, and holiday lets nearby can affect viewings and moving-day access. Summer traffic and tighter vehicle availability in popular coastal towns mean moving dates often benefit from being planned around the season.

Given the distance from Northampton, viewings and key moving-day tasks can be scheduled together where possible, with your coordinator managing the rest remotely.

The Cotswolds & rural Midlands

What tends to matter in a Cotswolds or rural Midlands move

Many properties in the Cotswolds and rural Midlands are period or listed buildings (stone cottages, converted barns, farmhouses) which can come with narrow doorways, uneven access and conservation-area restrictions on things like skip placement or parking.

Rural collections often involve a longer carry from the property to the removal vehicle than a street-front move, whether that is a farmhouse set back from the road or a cottage down a shared track. Flagging this during your consultation means the right crew size and timing can be planned in advance.

The Midlands are the part of the country closest to our Northampton base, so travel for viewings, staging visits and moving day is shortest here. We still work with clients across the whole UK.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you only work near Northampton?

No. We are based in Northampton and arrange moves across the UK. Local moves in Northamptonshire are covered on our Northampton page.

How do viewings and moving day work if I live a long way from Northampton?

Where possible, viewings and key moving-day tasks are scheduled together, and your coordinator manages the rest of the process remotely, so nothing depends on a short-notice site visit.

Can you help with retirement developments and age-restricted communities?

We can plan the move around the application steps, service charges and access rules a development involves. See our page on moving to a retirement village or home.
